Tobias Ballard. Founder
Having spent the best part of 30 years in the trade, Toby has a fountain of contacts and knowledge in the UK, throughout Europe and from across the Atlantic. He knows the best areas to search, many spots off the beaten track but also areas with a true motoring history. He can talk his way into many a hidden automobile graveyard, to rescue neglected classics. The passion is real, and the transformation is personal. He can never leave a classic car behind to remain unloved! In the UK, Toby works closely with his trusted little team, each with their own expertise in the field. They love what they do and all muck in to make the necessary repairs, staying true to the car's heritage by using only original parts and traditional engineering methods. The mission is to get the car back into the racing world or onto the road, fully restored as if fresh off the production belt for the first time.
Our Story
Back in 1981, a 1958 Morris Minor benefited from an engine rebuild, which was completed by a keen and enthusiastic 10-year-old boy, more interested in rebuilding engines and restoring cars than his lessons in school. Eleven years later, a 1939 Morris 10M was rescued and fully restored by that same boy, known as Toby, the car remaining in his collection today. Following an apprenticeship in mechanical engineering and with a particular interest in early Fords, Toby began importing Model A Fords from the USA to revive and enjoy. More recently in addition to the Fords, Toby has had great fun restoring American LA France Speedsters, and travelling all over Europe with these monsters of machines.
Today the focus of Toby’s business is the sourcing of neglected Edwardian, Vintage and classic vehicles, then through dedication and craftsmanship, reviving them to re-enter the racing, rally and motoring world.
